Materials
Our rollers have precision ball bearings, steel sides and rubber tires. We generally use rivets rather than bolts to hold them together, since it's usually cheaper to buy new rollers than repair them.

About Sintered Steel
Where appropriate, we use sintered steel. Sintering is a mass production technique for producing high precision, low cost metal components. To produce sintered parts, metal alloy powders are compressed and subjected to high temperature heat treatment which fuses the particles together.

Sintered steel has a high percentage of machined steel's strength plus excellent wear characteristics at a low per part price. This process is especially well suited to forming small metal parts like our standoffs, spacers, sprockets and bearing hubs.

We warranty every sintered steel part we sell for one full year.

Roller Testing
We have built a machine to test the durability of our and our competitors rollers. We will post a page with the results of our testing and some information on the machine. Until then, you can read more about our testing machine in this Ask Max column.
